Terms of service.
Effective June 11, 2026. These terms govern your use of Phrasora.
What Phrasora is.
Phrasora is a dictation service: you speak, and we turn that speech into cleaned-up text on your device. It includes apps for macOS, iOS, and Android, and a personal dictionary that learns from your corrections. Your dictionary and settings sync across your devices; history sync is optional.
Plans, trials, and billing.
The free plan includes 2,000 words of dictation per week, resetting every Monday (UTC). Pro removes that limit, monthly or yearly. You can subscribe on phrasora.ai (billed by Stripe) or inside the iOS app (billed by Apple through the App Store). Prices are shown before checkout in your local currency. One subscription is enough: Pro from either place covers all your devices, and we prevent starting a second subscription while one is active.
Every new account starts with a 14-day free trial of Pro, once per person. The trial requires no card: it’s a complimentary Pro window that simply ends, with no charge and nothing to cancel. When it ends, your account stays on the free plan until you choose to subscribe. You can subscribe at any time, during the trial or after.
When you subscribe to Pro, you’re charged at checkout and then on each renewal, monthly or yearly, until you cancel. A subscription bought on phrasora.ai is cancelled from the account page; one bought in the iOS app is managed and cancelled through Apple (Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions), and Apple’s refund policies apply to it. Either way, Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for, and you aren’t charged again. Amounts already paid are non-refundable except where the law says otherwise. If a renewal payment fails, we retry for a while before the subscription ends, your data is never deleted for non-payment.
Deleting your account cancels an active phrasora.ai (Stripe) subscription immediately. An App Store subscription is between you and Apple, so deleting your account does NOT cancel it: cancel it through Apple before or after deleting, or it will keep renewing. We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice by email; changes apply from your next billing period.
Your account.
You sign in with an email address and a one-time code. You are responsible for keeping access to that email address secure. You may delete your account at any time from the account page; deletion is immediate and removes your account’s content, dictionary, history, and recordings from our systems (the privacy policy notes the one anti-abuse exception).
Acceptable use.
- Don’t use Phrasora to violate any law or anyone else’s rights.
- Don’t attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the service.
- Don’t resell access to the service without our written permission.
Your content.
Your dictations are yours. We claim no ownership over anything you say or type. We process your audio and text only to provide the service, as described in the privacy policy.
Disclaimers.
The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. Transcription is automated and can make mistakes; review anything important before you send it.
Limitation of liability.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Phrasora will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes.
We may update these terms as the product evolves. If a change is material, we’ll notify you by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Phrasora after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law.
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada.
