What’s new

Shipped, and what changed.

Phrasora is built in the open and ships often. Here is the short version of what landed and when — newest first, in plain language, no jargon.

Launch

Phrasora is live

Phrasora is here. The Mac and Windows apps are live as direct downloads, the iPhone and Android apps are in store review, and the web account is open now. Sign in once and your dictionary, writing memory, and notes follow you across every device. Start free with 2,000 words a week — no card required.

Command bar

A command bar that stays out of the way

The floating command bar on Mac and Windows now rests fully click-through, so clicks pass straight to the app behind it until you reach for it. Dictate, polish a selection, or rewrite it as a prompt without leaving what you're working in. The recording bar also gained a one-tap done button beside cancel.

Formatting

Text shaped for where it's going

Phrasora now reads the kind of field you're dictating into and formats to match — an email comes out as an email, a chat message stays casual, a note stays plain. It's on by default, never reads a secure field, and you can switch it off. On iPhone you can also pick the format yourself from the keyboard's top bar.

Android

A simpler Android setup

The Android floating button and text insertion now run from a single permission, so setup is one step shorter. Grant accessibility once and the button works above any app, with your dictation landing right where your cursor is.

Writing coach

Refine — a writing coach that learns your voice

Refine looks at what you actually said and suggests a handful of sharper word choices — tighter phrases, more variety, fewer crutch words. You pick the ones you like, earn points and streaks as habits stick, and can retire a word you've outgrown. Suggestions only — never an automatic rewrite.

Referrals

Invite a friend, earn free words

Share your code and you both get rewarded: free words on the house, or free Pro months once your friend starts dictating. Pro now also begins with a full 14-day trial — no card up front — and you can subscribe whenever you're ready.

iPhone keyboard

Smarter typing on the iPhone keyboard

The keyboard now suggests completions and gentle corrections as you type, and it learns the emails, handles, and words you use most — all on your device, never synced, and wiped the moment you sign out. Swipe typing got noticeably more accurate, too.

Memory

Phrasora remembers what matters to you

Beyond the per-word dictionary, Phrasora now keeps a short, private writing memory for your account — the names, terms, and context that make your cleanup come out right. It updates itself quietly from your corrections, and a single correction can fix it within seconds. It's yours alone and goes away when you delete your account.

Windows

Phrasora comes to Windows

A native Windows desktop app joins the family — a global hotkey, a tray icon, the floating command bar, and the same automatic learning as the Mac app. It speaks the same account as every other device, so your dictionary and notes are already there.

Sync

Your notes, on every device

Slate notes and your dictionary now sync across all your devices in real time, with titles generated for you and conflicts resolved cleanly. Fix a name on your Mac and your iPhone already knows it. A lost dictation is captured to the Slate automatically, so your words are never gone.

Performance

A faster, calmer recording experience

From key release to inserted text now takes 871 milliseconds at the median, end to end. While you speak there's only a waveform and a timer — no half-finished text to second-guess — and your clean words appear when you finish. The website relaunched the same day with live pricing and a refreshed look.

Learning

It learns your words automatically

Fix a name once and Phrasora remembers it everywhere. Each learned term is announced the moment it happens, with eight seconds to undo, so nothing changes silently. Sound-alike names now resolve by sentence context, and your dictionary stays sharp at hundreds of terms.

Accuracy

Clean, accurate text every time

Dictation runs through a full-accuracy cloud speech model with AI cleanup, reaching 95.2% word accuracy on real-speech recordings. Filler words and false starts disappear, punctuation lands where it belongs, and you can choose how polished the result should be. Say a tricky name, then spell it, and the letters always win.
